St Botolphs Prepares to celebrate 900 years

St Botlophs Church is planning a whole series of events to celebrate it's 900th birthday in 2020...

Sept 2019 - Schools “Bulbs for Barton” project


Sat 28th Sept 2019 7.30 pm Harvest Ploughman’s Supper, plus

Delltones band and Graham Tilney (& friends?)

At Barton Seagrave Village Hall (Fund-raising event for Festival)


Oct 3rd or 9th 2019 tba Bulb planting ceremony.

Ch. Ho. Car park


Sun 9th Feb 2020 10.30 – 11.00 am Tree planting ceremony, Ch. Ho. Garden.

Extra ringing of bells at the same time.


Sun 26th Apr 2020 6.30 pm Opening “Civic” service.

Bells rung as usual. Ceremonial switching on of floodlighting (if ready by then).


Sat 2nd May 2020 All day History tours of church.


Sun May 3rd 2020 pm History tours of church.


Mon May 4th 2020 (Bank Hol) All day History tours of church.

St Botolph’s Day tba Special peal of church bells – “Barton Seagrave Delight” (takes 3hrs).
